Bridges offer a highly economical solution for replacing multiple missing teeth, which is very much in the interests of your dental and emotional health.
Bridges have been a part of general dentistry for decades, and the fact that they’re still being used in the 21st goes to show how reliable they are.
What is a bridge?
Bridges permanently fix false teeth to strong, natural teeth. We can either connect your bridge to the surface of existing teeth, or to crowns if the teeth on either side of the gap are damaged or too weak to support it. We offer a variety of high quality and durable materials for creating your dental bridge, and treatment is completely customised for each patient.
The material used will depend on where the vacant gaps are in your mouth, and your individual preferences on how the bridge will look.
The steps to getting a bridge?
Examination: as with all the tooth replacement treatments we offer, we will perform a careful examination of your mouth, looking at the condition of your existing teeth, and your gum health. X-rays and 3D images will also be taken, to help to determine if you’re suitable for a bridge.
Design and preparation: the diagnostic information collected is then sent to the dental technician, who will create your bridge to be an optimal match for your mouth. The false teeth and crowns used for your bridge will be shaped and shaded according to your unique smile characteristics and facial anatomy.
Fitting: we will invite you in for a fitting once your bridge has been sent back from the lab. We will make sure the bite, fit and aesthetic of your bridge suit you.
