In most cases, yes. Call us, and we’ll aim to see you as soon as possible, usually the same day. The sooner you get in touch, the sooner we can help.

Your initial emergency appointment is free. That covers a dental assessment, any X-rays or testing needed, a diagnosis, tailored advice, and a prescription for antibiotics or other medicine if it’s required. You won’t pay to find out what’s wrong.

Severe or persistent toothache, facial or gum swelling, a knocked-out or broken tooth, a lost filling or crown, or bleeding that won’t stop are all good reasons to get in touch. If you’re unsure, call us and we’ll help you work out how quickly you need to be seen.

Try to handle it by the crown rather than the root, and if you can, gently place it back in the socket and bite on something soft to hold it. If that’s not possible, keep it in milk and bring it with you. Then call us straight away, as time matters with a knocked-out tooth.

The initial appointment includes a prescription for antibiotics or other medicine where it’s clinically appropriate. We’ll assess what’s causing the problem first, as antibiotics aren’t always the right answer, and treating the underlying cause is usually what brings lasting relief.

No. You don’t need to be an existing patient to book an emergency appointment with us. We’re happy to help whether or not you’ve been to us before.

We’ll examine the area, take any X-rays needed, and diagnose what’s going on. Then we’ll explain the problem and your options clearly, and, if treatment is needed, provide a quote before we do anything, so there are no surprises on cost.

If treatment is needed on the day, it starts from £95 depending on what’s required, with things like extractions and root canal treatment priced higher. We’ll always talk you through the cost and give you a quote before going ahead.

Swelling alongside pain can indicate an infection that needs seeing to promptly, so please call us rather than waiting. If you ever have swelling that’s spreading, affecting your eye or your breathing, or you feel very unwell, treat that as a medical emergency and seek urgent medical help.
