Implant retained dentures are special. Because traditional dentures don’t create a relationship with the jawbone, it begins to shrink away resulting in what can be some dramatic facial changes, such as sunken cheeks and a protruding chin.

The steps to getting implant retained dentures

Evaluation: as with all our implants treatments, we will carry out a full examination of your mouth, and take 3D images and X-rays to see the status of the underlying structures in your mouth. We will also take note of your natural tooth shade and shape, so we can create custom dentures that are an accurate match for your facial aesthetic. Surgery: the implants are surgically placed and will need to heal for about 3-6 months before your dentures can be fitted.

Denture placement: once the implants have healed, your dentures are placed over the implants, and should feel just like real teeth. You will be able to remove your dentures with ease, in order to clean them.
